Joe grew up hearing accounts of ghostly activity on his father's side of the family.  His grandfather had built his home and business on grounds where a convent once stood and, allegedly, the house was built on ground where nuns may have been interred. So while the ghosts were not to be feared, encounters with them were still unsettling. However, Joe never experienced anything strange and grew up never really being interested in the paranormal.

In adulthood, when his wife suggested the house they had recently purchased was haunted, Joe was skeptical and perhaps dismissive.  But one day he found himself alone with a strangely reacting dog in the house when he experienced inexplicable activity that propelled him to pursue paranormal phenomena.  During his research he discovered there were groups that investigated paranormal accounts and began training with one where he took the initiative to develop protocols for conducting investigations.  Along the way he forged friendships with other paranormal investigators, discovered they worked well together and eventually formed what was later to become Bayou City Paranormal.

As a Director of Bayou City Paranormal, Joe hopes to garner opportunity and advantage from encouraging practical physical methodology and metaphysical art while maintaining a healthy skepticism for a balanced approach to investigations. As a Case Manager, he is mindful of his role as the Client's primary contact and strives to justify their faith that Bayou City Paranormal will do all it can to fulfill their objective and help restore peace of mind and harmony. As a member of Bayou City Paranormal, Joe is grateful and proud to be working with friends who demonstrate a passion for the paranormal and an integrity for investigations in a warm, supportive and respectful environment.

Rose is a native Houstonian, born in Jeff Davis Hospital on Allen Parkway. She grew up just a few homes east of Houston’s famous Glenwood cemetery. “Back in those days Glenwood was kept open day in and out and my Dad and I would go muscadine-grape picking. Occasionally, I’d get to play in the cemetery. The large trees made it a very nice place to be out of the hot summer sun.

“I didn’t start thinking about the existence of paranormal activities until a few years ago. One of my older sisters claimed she was a contact for lost souls and readily able to communicate

with any dead soul. That was around 2006. So, I set out to record her conversations with these ‘spirits’ of hers. After successfully accomplishing this, I did some research and found lots of people that participate in proving or disproving the paranormal. A few ghost investigation groups had websites on the internet so I looked for one in Houston, and now here I am enjoying a bunch a great folks and searching for ghosts, anomalies, and things that go bump in the night.

“I am fairly sure my first personal paranormal experience occurred at a friend’s house in December, 2009 -- at least one that I recognized at the time of occurrence. I had one experience last year but didn’t know it had happened until I reviewed an investigation video. Every now and then I catch something and I am sure it’s paranormal but don’t have the evidence to prove it was nothing more than a personal experience.

“I also like electronic and technical gadgets and toys, and enjoy figuring out how to make ‘e-things’ work for our group. I am always experimenting with different gadgets; some do good and some don’t. Here again, I have learned to work with gadgets, videos, EVPs, EMFs, etc., that I would not have considered possible to understand a few years ago.

“There’s almost nothing that sends more excitement through me than seeing or capturing evidence on a device that I was using during an investigation. I never dreamed in my younger years that I would proactively be a spirit seeker much less enjoy it as much as I do with a group of people who share the same feelings.”

Irma has been interested in the paranormal since age ten. Her father had psychic premonitions, as did some of his ancestors from Italy and France.

"When I was a child I had vivid dreams that often came true. My father encouraged me to learn more, so I spent some time playing around with the Ouija Board — a short time; it really scared me when it moved! The dreams continue today. I have also discovered that I have sensitive/empathic feelings and have even been able to communicate with the other side."

Irma has been ghost hunting and researching the paranormal since 2005 and has investigated several historical haunted sites. History is another great interest of hers. "Every time I see an old building or object, I wonder what it must have been like 'back then'.

"I am always ready for a ghost hunt and meeting others with like interests."

Nancy has always been interested in the paranormal. As a child she had several experiences that triggered an interest in things that were not the "norm". "As a teenager I experienced the tragic death of a boyfriend. On one occasion I believe that I saw him. It only made me believe that much more in the afterlife and my search to find evidence of it."

Helen started her search for the paranormal several years after losing her parents. "I wanted to know if they could come back and check on their family and if I could communicate with them if needed. And so my journey began.”

Helen has been to many haunted places and has studied a number of theories. She worked on her own for many years and still does regularly. “I spend many hours researching and investigating places I find interesting and occasionally find a spirit hanging around. I have had many questions about the paranormal answered through personal experiences backed up by EVPs and photos. I have found paranormal activity in so many places one would never think of and have found it exists pretty much everywhere. It just depends on how open you are to the experience and the situation you are in at that moment.”

Bettie was born and raised in Southeast Texas in the shadow of the San Jacinto Monument where she became aware of the wonderful history of the Great State of Texas. As she visited historical sites, she began to explore beyond the written accounts and realized her interest lay in the paranormal artifacts that resulted from significant historical occurrences. “I have had some personal experiences but rely on my equipment to provide evidence of paranormal phenomena and consider myself a skeptic with an open mind. ”

Barbara has always been interested in the paranormal and afterlife. "For as long as I can remember I have loved visiting historical places, and have been able to 'feel' the energies of past generations. A good ghost story is always preferred reading and I find the history behind them very intriguing."

Also a Houston native, her childhood home saw three generations who had lived there.  Barbara slept in a bedroom that was once her grandmother's room.  "Grandmother Kelly came to visit me often in my dreams, and I also felt her presence in the house from time to time."   Over the years she has come to realize that God has given her the gifts of sensitive empathy and psychic premonition.  "Quite often I have vivid dreams of going to a certain location and watching activity going on there, but during a different time period, and months later actually walking into the same location that I had dreamed about.  It still surprises me when that happens!"

Barbara's father died when she was eighteen, and her mother just nine years later. It was very difficult for her emotionally when her mother died.  She was terribly depressed for weeks, until one morning when God allowed her mother to come and comfort her.  "I had gotten into the car just like every other morning and headed off to work, when suddenly I could clearly hear Mom's voice in my left ear speaking to me and a warm, calming feeling flooding over my entire body."  Through these events, and many others, Barbara has come to realize that life after death is a fact, and the Biblical fight between good and evil continues.

"I am very honored to be a part of Bayou City Paranormal, and to assist those who live in fear from what they do not understand.  This is an amazing group of serious, dedicated investigators, who also know how to have fun!"
Laura can't remember a time when she wasn't interested in the paranormal.  As long as she's been able to read, it seems as though the only books she wanted to read were about Ghosts, ESP, Telepathy, etc. Also, there were a lot of unexplained occurrences in the Kerrville, TX home that she grew up in.

Within the last two years or so, Laura decided to pursue the things that she has had a passion for.  One of those things was investigating the paranormal.  She reached out to members of an online paranormal meet-up group and Bettie responded.  Bettie invited Laura to a field event and if you could just imagine Laura with all these strangers she had never met before, except for one lady that she met 'online', it's the middle of the night and they're out in the middle of nowhere....well, let's just say the group still laughs about it! "I'm so grateful and blessed to have met this amazing group of people."

The other passion was determining what her connection to the spirit world is and why that connection had been with her for as long as she could remember.  "My being a Medium was something I had to work to tap into and commit myself to developing.  I'd wanted to see spirits so badly and it wasn't until I took part in a Mediumship class that I realized that I had been seeing them all along.  I also learned that as a toddler I would tell my Mother about the people that I had seen and talked to in my room the night before. My brother had been doing the same thing.  I now wonder if the activity in the house that I grew up in was due to spirits attached to the house or spirits that were trying to get my attention."
Ashlie was born and raised in a small country town South of Houston.  She still resides in that town with her husband Wendell, their pets, and an entity that they call their “roommate.”   Ashlie became interested in the paranormal the moment she read “Ghosts along the Brazos” in second grade.  She carried this interest with her throughout Elementary School but it didn’t kick into high gear until her family moved less than a mile from the Levi Jordan Plantation when she was about 11 years old. "I became obsessed with that plantation, the ghost stories and the history.  I still have newspaper clippings, articles, and even a published diary that was found at the plantation."

Ashlie had her first paranormal experience when she was 12 years old. "I remember sitting on my porch swing late at night and listening to the voices of children laughing and playing in the field beside my house. This happened often and I didn't find out until a couple of years later that my house was right beside the grounds of an old school house. I loved the way that validation felt."

Ashlie didn't really have another paranormal experience until she was about 23 years old.  "In the past 6 years Ive seen numerous apparitions, have had a premonition, and often feel other peoples pain and emotions. Sometimes I don't feel or experience anything at all."
Over the years, Ashlie has gone on her own little "ghost hunts" with family and friends. She has been to historical landmarks, slave and confederate cemeteries, as well as haunted hotels and public venues with reported ghostly activity. It wasn't until a family member told her about Bayou City Paranormal that she realized that she could do something she loved for more than just fun...but to help other people who may be frightened by what they are experiencing. "I feel very fortunate to have found BCP. They are a team that I can truly call family."
Wendell had his first paranormal experience when he was very young. "I was staying the night with family in El Campo. Me and my cousins were woken up by the covers on our bed being lifted up. We heard pots and pans rattling in the kitchen so we went to see who was up and tell them about what just happened. When we got to the kitchen, nobody was in there but we could see cooking utensils moving.  It frightened us and we ran out the front door."  Wendell tried to block this memory from his mind and didn't think much about ghosts again until he met his wife at the age of 18. Soon after, he found himself following her around in dark cemeteries and became very interested in the paranormal.

"After buying our house, Ashlie kept telling me that she would see apparitions in the middle of the night. Five years later I was playing video games in my living room, looked over and it was standing right beside me."

Wendell is the quiet one out of the bunch. "I don't say much but I'm always listening and looking for anything out of the ordinary. I enjoy setting up all of the equipment, working the meters, taking photos and then analyzing them as well as listening for EVP's after a good investigation. Catching an EVP is an awesome feeling and I find them very interesting."
