Rose is a native Houstonian,
born in Jeff Davis Hospital on Allen Parkway. She grew up just a few homes east
of Houston’s famous Glenwood cemetery. “Back in those days Glenwood was kept
open day in and out and my Dad and I would go muscadine-grape picking. Occasionally, I’d get to play in the cemetery. The large trees made it a very
nice place to be out of the hot summer sun.
“I didn’t start thinking about
the existence of paranormal activities until a few years ago. One of my older
sisters claimed she was a contact for lost souls and readily able to
communicate
with any dead soul. That was
around 2006. So, I set out to record her conversations with these ‘spirits’ of
hers. After successfully accomplishing this, I did some research and found lots
of people that participate in proving or disproving the paranormal. A few ghost
investigation groups had websites on the internet so I looked for one in
Houston, and now here I am enjoying a bunch a great folks and searching for
ghosts, anomalies, and things that go bump in the night.
“I am fairly sure my first
personal paranormal experience occurred at a friend’s house in December, 2009
-- at least one that I recognized at the time of occurrence. I had one
experience last year but didn’t know it had happened until I reviewed an
investigation video. Every now and then I catch something and I am sure it’s
paranormal but don’t have the evidence to prove it was nothing more than a
personal experience.
“I also like electronic and
technical gadgets and toys, and enjoy figuring out how to make ‘e-things’ work
for our group. I am always experimenting with different gadgets; some do good
and some don’t. Here again, I have learned to work with gadgets, videos, EVPs,
EMFs, etc., that I would not have considered possible to understand a few years
ago.
“There’s almost nothing that
sends more excitement through me than seeing or capturing evidence on a device
that I was using during an investigation. I never dreamed in my younger years
that I would proactively be a spirit seeker much less enjoy it as much as I do
with a group of people who share the same feelings.”
Irma has been interested in
the paranormal since age ten. Her father had psychic premonitions, as did some
of his ancestors from Italy and France.
"When I was a child I had
vivid dreams that often came true. My father encouraged me to learn more, so I
spent some time playing around with the Ouija Board — a short time; it really
scared me when it moved! The dreams continue today. I have also discovered that
I have sensitive/empathic feelings and have even been able to communicate with
the other side."
Irma has been ghost hunting
and researching the paranormal since 2005 and has investigated several historical
haunted sites. History is another great interest of hers. "Every time I
see an old building or object, I wonder what it must have been like 'back
then'.
"I am always ready for a
ghost hunt and meeting others with like interests."
Nancy has always been interested in the paranormal. As a child she had several experiences that triggered an interest in things that were not the "norm". "As a teenager I experienced the tragic death of a boyfriend. On one occasion I believe that I saw him. It only made me believe that much more in the afterlife and my search to find evidence of it."
Helen started her search for the paranormal several years after
losing her parents. "I wanted to know if they could come back and check on their
family and if I could communicate with them if needed. And so my journey
began.”
Helen has been to many haunted places and has studied a
number of theories. She worked on her own for many years and still does
regularly. “I spend many hours researching and investigating places I find
interesting and occasionally find a spirit hanging around. I have had many
questions about the paranormal answered through personal experiences backed up
by EVPs and photos. I have found paranormal activity in so many places one
would never think of and have found it exists pretty much everywhere. It just
depends on how open you are to the experience and the situation you are in at
that moment.”
Bettie was born and raised in Southeast Texas in the shadow of the San Jacinto Monument where she became aware of the wonderful history of the Great State of Texas. As she visited historical sites, she began to explore beyond the written accounts and realized her interest lay in the paranormal artifacts that resulted from significant historical occurrences. “I have had some personal experiences but rely on my equipment to provide evidence of paranormal phenomena and consider myself a skeptic with an open mind. ”
Laura can't remember a time when she wasn't interested in the paranormal. As long as she's been able to read, it seems as though the only books she wanted to read were about Ghosts, ESP, Telepathy, etc. Also, there were a lot of unexplained occurrences in the Kerrville, TX home that she grew up in.
Ashlie was born and raised in a small country town South of Houston. She still resides in that town with her husband Wendell, their pets, and an entity that they call their “roommate.” Ashlie became interested in the paranormal the moment she read “Ghosts along the Brazos” in second grade. She carried this interest with her throughout Elementary School but it didn’t kick into high gear until her family moved less than a mile from the Levi Jordan Plantation when she was about 11 years old. "I became obsessed with that plantation, the ghost stories and the history. I still have newspaper clippings, articles, and even a published diary that was found at the plantation."
Wendell had his first paranormal experience when he was very young. "I was staying the night with family in El Campo. Me and my cousins were woken up by the covers on our bed being lifted up. We heard pots and pans rattling in the kitchen so we went to see who was up and tell them about what just happened. When we got to the kitchen, nobody was in there but we could see cooking utensils moving. It frightened us and we ran out the front door." Wendell tried to block this memory from his mind and didn't think much about ghosts again until he met his wife at the age of 18. Soon after, he found himself following her around in dark cemeteries and became very interested in the paranormal.
